Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Daughters of the King Retreat begins Friday at Christ the King SLC and ends after lunch on Sunday. Reservations can still be made by contacting Janet Papa.

Parish Nurses from the diocese and across the country began a nationally certified program yesterday at Christ the King. Special thanks to Carol Drummond and Susan Olszewski for getting this going.

The Deacons were on Retreat last weekend. A marvelous, committed cadre of disciple leaders. I heard some outstanding sermons from several deacons. A follow up prayer request: Pray for Deacon Lynne Curtis who left for South Africa to lead a retreat for AIDS/HIV heath-caregivers this week.

Our sympathy to Lay Canon George Marshall and his family upon the death of his 92 year old father. Rest eternal grant unto him O Lord, and let light perpetual shine on him.

Sunday Bishop Dave visits Christ Church, Walton in the morning and then St. Paul’s, Bloomville where he’ll ordain Deacon Linda Wilson to the priesthood. I will at Christ Church, Herkimer in the morning and then St. Johns, Johnstown in the afternoon for regional confirmations.

St. John's Church in Johnstown is sponsoring a trip to New York City on Saturday, November 5th to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The cost of the trip is $95 and included transportation, orchestra seating for the production, and an afternoon to sight see or shop in the Big Apple. LORD JESUS, our King and our Savior: bless this whole Diocese, its clergy and people; fill our hearts with a spirit of generosity that the Spiritual Life Center may be completed for your glory, the good of your Church, the welfare of our parishes and the encouragement of our Youth; make it a place of healing and holiness and Christian community; use it to draw us to your Father in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

In Christ,
