Late Breaking News from Bishops Dan and Dave

Today, The Rev. Tory Baucum stated that, in fairness to all and the integrity of the election process, he believes it would be best if he does not give the Parish Leadership Conference lectures this year. This is a commendable and honorable decision on his part. As you are aware, Tory did a fine job with the lectures last year, and because of positive feedback, we asked him to come back this year. At that time, we did not know that there would be an election on March 24, nor that Tory would be nominated for Bishop Coadjutor. When Tory was nominated earlier this week, he immediately went to prayer about whether it was ethical to do the lectures in light of the fact that it would give him a platform other nominees do not have. Today he made his final decision. He does not wish to put himself at an advantage in the election process, nor to cause anyone to question the integrity of the process.

Therefore, THE PLCs WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED, with the bishops leading the talks on "How to Hit the Ground Running - Building your Parish." As previously planned, the nominees for Bishop Coadjutor will be introduced at the March 4 meeting at the Spiritual Life Center.
