Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Hardly seems possible that Father Bill's consecration is just 4 weeks from tomorrow.
The Consecration Planning Committee under the leadership of Carol Drummond has done a thorough job of preparing for this major diocesan event. The Convention Center has been visited a number of times to assure a smooth flow on the 16th.
A pre-consecration dinner will be held the night before at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center for Father Bill's family, visiting Bishops, and the principals of the consecration liturgy. The dinner will be preceded by Evensong in the main chapel.
Vesting clergy should plan to arrive by Noon on the 16th. Priests will wear albs and white stoles and chasubles. Deacons will vest in white stoles.
All visitors and participants can park beneath the convention center for only $2. However, since 9/11 each occupant of each vehicle must have photo I.D. If you have passengers without such ID, it would be best to discharge them outside and they can walk in. The photo ID is required only for the parking garage.
In your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Bishop Herbert Thompson. Bishop Thompson, who preached at my consecration, retired just last year as Bishop of Southern Ohio. He died the day before yesterday in Italy.
Shane Gormley of Scotia was a summer intern at the Diocesan Office and completed his tour of duty on Wednesday. He was a cheerful, competent guy who joined us for the Noon Mass, and ably assisted all of us. Thank you Shane for your help.
The Trustees will meet next Wednesday at 9:00 beginning with Morning Prayer.
The Couples Cursillo Weekend begins on Thursday evening, Aug 24. Please pray for God's continued blessing on this apostolate.
The CHRISTIAN EDUCATION conference is Saturday, Aug 26, at Christ the King. This is a major help for every missionary outpost. Best is to bring a whole carload. Helps build a strong team. Congratulations to Fr Scott Harding and his Team from Glens Falls who provided VBS at Good Shepherd, Elizabethtown.

The September Eucharistic Holy Hour, will be Tuesday, Sept 5, at Noon at the Spiritual Life Center in the Chapel of the Healing Center. Lunch follows.
